This year we have the most perfect Christmas tree ever! You want to know how we did if?!? We had Rory pick it out. We decided that we would let him pick one out and keep it tied up so it would be easier to get it home that way. We thought we would take our chances on how it looked. So this one was the lucky winner!
And it was perfect! Good job Rory!!! {I spy our little friend}
He had to hang his new lego ornament on the tree first.
And after it was all decorated, Rory was begging to hang the star. Daddy can I hang the star? Daddy the star! Daddy! Daddy! Daddy, can I hang the star?!?
I guess it was a little too scary up there for him...
(I love that Rory is covering Randy's eyes!)
We went to a Christmas cookie decorating party at a friend's house.
I found Rian at the sink washing dishes and talking on the phone. And then she started warming food. As my mom said, she's a busy little diva!
After decorating cookies, the kids had a surprise visit from Santa! Santa was prepared with his list of good kids, that included what each kid wanted, something they were doing great at and something they need to work on. Rian was not a fan. That was as close as she would get to him without completely freaking out and compromising her nice status. Santa knew she wanted some Minnie Mouse toys, was great at helping me around the house, but needed to work on not climbing on things.
Rory on the other hand was all smiles! He loved it!!! He finally gets Santa. He knows he's the only one standing between him and a shiny new batbot and he wasn't going to take any chances. Besides the batbot, Santa knew that Rory was doing a great job learning to read, but that he needed to work on not pouting.
Then the next day we went to Pajama Train Ride with Santa at the Southern Nevada Train Museum in Boulder City. Rory got his and Rian's letters ready, you know just in case Santa needs a reminder!
He's ready to go in his Christmas jammies!
However, Rian needed a nap first.
They read The Night Before Christmas to the kids before Santa made his way down the aisle.
Santa's elf was telling Rory that Santa was on his way
Santa: Is this your letter for me?
Rory: This is my letter. And this is Rian's letter!
Santa: Rian?
Rory: Yeah my sister.
He chatted with Santa about being a good boy and how Santa was going to give the letters to his elves for safe keeping. Rory was pretty happy with his talk with Santa.
Rian just stared at Santa, while clinging to my neck. She was ok with Rory doing all the talking!
Waiting for hot chocolate and cookies!
Oh Ralphie!
Dec 8: he made a mini Christmas tree out of one of my pine cones.
Dec 9: he made an ornament for our tree we were getting in a few days. Only Ralphie would find a green & white paper clip. Did he bring that from the North Pole?
Dec 10: he patiently waited for us to get the tree and set it up. He had the best view.
Dec 11: since we didn't decorate the tree that night, Ralphie decided to go for ride on a reindeer!
Dec 12: he finally got to hang his handmade ornament?
Dec 13: he thought he could blend in with the Christmas decor?!?
Dec 14: since we saw Santa the night before, Ralphie stayed with us that night and decided to move during an exciting game of hide and seek! Nice hiding spot Ralphie!!!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you all are having a very happy holiday season. May your days be merry and bright.
xoxo
