Hello, Hello, Hello!!!
Wow! I know this post is seriously overdue, and to be completely honest I had hoped to publish it last week before we left for our Christmas trip (more on that later), but we've been hustling and bustling so I guess it's better late than never. :0)
The weeks leading up to Christmas were nonstop. We went here, there and everywhere in between. There were gifts to shop for, to put together, and to exchange between friends. There was planning and packing and partying. And so here it is...
Some days between all the chaos and craziness, I get sweet surprises like a heart-shaped pretzel from Rory. Mom close your eyes! And when I opened my eyes, I found this:

Living the winter break life!

Christmas jammies

And he ended the week with holiday shirt day. Kevin McAllister and the Wet Bandits! This is one of Rory's favorite scenes from Home Alone.
And well Rian wanted her picture taken too!
Rory carrying his contribution to his class holiday party! (He reminds me of Kevin McAllister here, just waiting for the bags to break open.)
His teacher gifts. This year we went with diy gift baskets.
A pancake themed basket
And a cookie making theme basket
I know what we are doing February 10th!
And while the boys were at the movies, Rian and I had a little holiday ice cream party for two!
At the beginning of our Winter Break the kids had their annual christmas party with our playgroup where they made ornaments and had a sock exchange.
_______________
12.13: Ralphie reminded us that it was time to make our reindeer cookies.
12.14: A little drawing lesson for the kiddos
Rian said she wanted to draw a monkey, and that's what her "reindeer" looks like. (I helped her with the large face circle and the circles for the eyes, everything else is all Rian). Rory wanted to draw more than just the face.
12.15: Rory was bored with this question. He could only name a few off the top of his head, and became really annoyed when Randy began singing to name them all.
12.16: The next morning Rory found that Ralphie had only written You did it! on the chalkboard, so he decided that he was going to leave Ralphie a message. I told Rory that I bet Ralphie probably is still preparing something really fun for them to do. But I think Ralphie just needed a little break from the holiday activities.
And when Rory got home from the movies, he found that Ralphie had a surprise waiting for him and Rian.
12.17: Dressing up like Santa's?!?
Haha!!! Santa beard-making!
HO HO HO
Rian wouldn't "dress up" because she said she's scared of Santa. But her beard is awfully cute!
12.18: A joke?!?
Rory's response with his own snowman
To chill out! Get it?!?
12.19: The kids may have made their letters to Santa, but they weren't quite ready to take them to him.
12.20: And we can't forget the reindeer food!
12.21: And we did!
12.22: Magnet books and games for the kiddos!
And I'll leave you with this year's Santa photo. Yup, she really is scared of Santa. She threw her letter at his feet and was ready to bail. Three years and counting. Rory on the other hand is the perfect kid, chatting it up with the big guy!
I'll end things here for now. Next up is our trip to Cali for our California Christmas.

One of her favorite places to be...a top daddy's shoulders!
Rian loves to sit by the tree. Sometimes she moves the ornaments around, and sometimes she just admires it.
So we left off on a Monday with Rory's holiday themes at school with a holiday hat and socks. The next day was holiday sweater day. He loves this sweater!!!
Rory was off the following day, so we skip over to that Thursday for Christmas pajama day. Santa Stormtroppers for the win! Poor Rory was half asleep when I took this photo.

(Even though I created the tags myself, I used ideas and sayings I found here on Pinterest)
That afternoon, Randy surprised Rory with a trip to the movie theater to go see Star Wars: Rouge One
