Hello October

Happy Weekend Eve!

First I'd like to wish my mama a very happy birthday! Thank you for everything you do for us. We love you mucho mucho!!! :0)

We're currently enjoying the last few days of Rory's track break, taking it easy and trying to find our routine that we left in the dust when break started.

I road tripped solo with the kids to Cali this past weekend for a baby shower. And an early morning road trip with two tired kiddos calls for some eye de-puffing pad hidden under my sunglasses. The kids really are getting great at traveling in the backseat. Halfway through the trip, Rory fell asleep and Rian was bored without him. So she decided to throw one of her stuffed animals at him while yelling "It's time to wake up Rory!", only to have the animal land in his lap and out of reach. She then decided to take a stuffed elephant that was a bit longer in size, and whack him repeatedly with it while yelling the same phrase over and over. Umm, yeah, Rian your brother is a deep sleeper and he is unfazed by your attempts! But bravo to your effort!

We celebrated this beautiful mama at the shower and I'm bummed I did't get a photo with her. (Rian's "helpfulness" was a little more than needed at one pointed when she decided to start taking the gifts out of all the bags and we had to take a walk.)
But I couldn't be more excited for the blessing of a new baby girl in the family and the love that will surround her. Congratulations!!!

Baby showering with the big girls and enjoying the yummy treats.

Seriously?!?

You will always be my baby, Rian! (The funny thing is, is that she never wanted a pacifier as baby.)

Being the older cousin.

Showing Zoe some love.

Take it out of your mouth.
Once Zoe spit out the ribbon... There you go.

Oh Zoe you little thing, I pray for your mama because its going to be a wild ride full of adventure with you and Rian. I love watching all the cousin love!!!

Every pink clad present must be hers, right?!?

At least she can have a piece of pink clad cake... eating the frosting first!

Rory got to spend the day with Papa. On the agenda: swimming, swimming and more swimming. It is October, right?!?

Rian joined Rory in the pool once we got back to my parents' house.
My little fishies!

Watching these two try to climb up onto the board and fall off in complete laughter was one of my favorites from this weekend.

Working off that cake in the pool.

While Rory turned in circles all night with toes hanging over the edge, I don't think Rian moved an inch...she was so tired.

We spent some time on Sunday with my SIL. We had a great visit catching up while the kids did some Halloween crafts that she had for them. Thanks Aunt Courtney!!!

We headed home after and the drive home was a little longer than usual with an accident that created unexpected bumper-to-bumper traffic. But the kiddos were champs and we made it home without any meltdowns. Yay!!!

I did make a stop for some coffee and fries, because lets face it, three hours of Frozen and Peanuts songs on repeat warrants a coffee break!

We've started Treasure Hunt Tuesdays since the weather is so nice in the afternoon.
Last week the map I drew that led them to our neighborhood park for some milk and cookies.

I'm just waiting...

They found us!

Since last week's adventure was such a success, I upped the game adding more clues, a couple of friends and an actual treasure chest full of goodies.

When Randy and kids got to the park, the kids' friends, Sean and Ashlyn, were waiting there to help them find the treasure chest.

And of course they also had milk and cookies.

Inside the chest were cat masks, skeleton brides, brides of Frankenstein and markers for the girls.

The boys found pumpkin pirate masks, Frankensteins, skeletons and markers.

Rory had a visit to the dentist.

I find his x-rays so fascinating with the rows of baby teeth and permanent teeth.

He did awesome, and had zero cavities!!! Yay!

He was so excited to get a new Avengers toothbrush!

Pretty much Rory's world consist of Star Wars, Stars Wars, Star Wars. Rory has these cool Star Wars kicks to look forward to when his feet get a little bigger. Too bad they don't fit, because the halloween costume conversation is all about Star Wars right now.

Thanks Target for the Star Wars display. Rory had to get a photo with it. :0)

And the world according to Rian can be summed up in this one photo: crayons, crayon scribbles, doodle pad, duplos, a super hero and a headband.

Yup this is her beautiful artwork...

...that she helped clean up

This spot under the side table has become her little cubby, and sometimes the fun turns into a nap.

Trying to conquer this ladder. She isn't quite confident yet to climb over the top.

When you can't find a stroller for your babies, you barrow your dad's Scott's turf builder for seeding.

And that's all folks! As always thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a great weekend. We have some fun and festive things planned this weekend, so until next time...

xoxo
