I thought I'd share with you all a little of our playful side. To say that Rory and Rian are full of energy is a complete understatement. From the minute they wake up until the moment they close their eyes at night, they are in go mode. So Randy and I like to spend time with the kids playing games and activities that we all can enjoy and partake in.
One of Rory's favorite games to play in the house is hide-and-seek. I can't remember exactly if it was my mom or my MIL that got him on this a while ago. But since then Rian has been watching us run and hide all around the house.
Little by little she has picked up the concept of the game, first just leaning against the wall and jibbering her count and then spinning around.
Within the last few weeks or so she has really begun to get the hang of things.
I was counting the other night and as I said ready or not, here I come and turned around, I saw a pair of little feet peeking out from under the curtain.
Rian, I found you! Cutest thing ever!!!
Another big game around here is Uno! But this isn't like the Uno I played as a kid, it's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Uno!!! Rory received this game for his birthday from my friend, Kerry and her sweet girls. There's a lot of A-HAs, followed by silly spitting noises when Rory and Randy slap down a card to their own advantage.
But lately, it's been difficult to play since Rian will do anything to get her hands on the cards. So she sits with me and throws down my cards when it's my turn. She can put down a card like no one's business! {haha!!!}.
And our Nerf Wars! To me, this is the most fun we have together. We all get involve, we all run around and we all have a blast. We do have one very important rule that is a must: You cannot shoot at anyone that does not have a gun, and that includes the dogs!
Usually our games go a little like this: Rory and I are on a team against Randy, and Rian usually runs around the house collecting the fired nerf bullets that are scattered all around. The trick is trying to hoax her into giving up the bullets without getting hit in the process.
Rian, can I have those please?!?
And you might be surprise to hear that Rory is really good at this game. Ok he's not the best player, yet. But he is by far the smartest one. He usually runs up the stairs and fires from the catwalk down at Randy who's standing in the entryway. Or he will fire at Randy from the stairs. Yup, that's Rory shooting at Randy.
My view...a clear shot of Randy
The newest edition to our fun! As a kid I always wanted a trampoline and I'm so glad that we got the kids one for Christmas! We have so much jumping around in there. And thank heaven for the net surround. Sometimes you don't realize where you're jumping and I'm 100% convinced that I would have broken something already if the net was not there. {Hey, I've already broken three bones in my life, what's one more?}.
xoxo
