Well us Harringtons are having ourselves a quiet little January so far. All the Christmas decor has been packed away deep in the closet and the Christmas presents have been broken in. And although there are lights still hanging outside {umm, Randy's territory}, I can officially say that the holidays are over.
Rian is still exploring her artistic side...all over the house. But like I thought, the magic erasers have been a lifesaver for me her. I'd like to say that the under side of our tables and chairs don't have a colorful scribble on them, but I'd be lying if I did.
In all honesty I really can't be too mad at her for using our house as her canvas. I did the same thing when I was small. Armed with a blue and red crayon, I used a section of wall in our den to express myself. My mom left my scribble on the wall until I was 8 years old, when we moved from that house. For now Rian's art is still up, but I'm not sure it will be there in seven years.
Her favorite thing is to color with someone. Rory is really good about coloring with her. That is, until her crayon crosses over to his page. "RIAN! You're coloring on my side! That's your side, this is my side."
Mommy, I know I look cute, but can we go now?!?
One of Rian's favorite shows to watch is a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse episode called Minnie-rella. It's their version of Cinderella with Minnie as the title character. Rian was watching it the other day and I caught her stealing her own Minnie Mouse doll's shoe and trying to put it on. What do you think Disney, Rian-ella?!?
A midnight snack of macaroni & cheese and grapes.
Yeah, that was my bowl of fruit. If you follow me on Instagram you know that I walked away to get my coffee and found her digging in. By the way, she had already had two bowl fulls of fruit of her own right before this.
Spider-man coloring Spider-man
Rory got this thing for Christmas from my MIL, it's called an EZY Roller. It moves and turns by the rider steering it with their feet. Rory is a pro. He rides this thing all over the house and never looks up from his magazines or books.
It's actually really fun! Randy and I tried it the other day. Yup that's Randy riding right into the wall. I hit the walls more than I'd like to admit before I got the hang of it. I however, rode around with either Rory or Rian riding on my lap. More fun times at the Harrington house!
When I say that Rory loves vacuums, I'm not kidding. If a store sells a vacuum, Rory WILL find it! He found them at Auto Zone the other day. He sat there just like this until we were done checking out.
Umm, Rory?!? It's time to go!
Hide-and-seek anyone?!?
Look at them go!
So the kids both had a wellness check up this past week.
Rian:
Height: 30 in. 6%
Weight: 20.12 lbs. 5%
Head: 45 3/4 cm. 24%
Rian's got a Harrington-size head for sure! The doctor was pleased with her development. She's really small, but is doing awesome!
She had to get her blood taken from her toe and had to get a shot. :0( She has seen better days.
Usually when their doctor asks if they can have a popsicle, I tell him that they'll share one. This time, Rian earned every piece of her own popsicle!!!
Rory:
Height 43 1/2 in. 57%
Weight 40.9 lbs. 46%
He's doing great and the doctor was happy with his development. :0)
Snacks and coloring books are the only way to do doctor appointments.
And this lucky boy got a popsicle and didn't even get one single shot. But I do have to say that on our way to their appointment, Rory kept asking if he was going to get a shot. And although I told him I didn't think so, I could tell that the thought of possibly getting one bothered him.
Well thanks for stopping by. I hope everyone is having a great weekend!
Bye for now...
xoxo
