Halloween 2017

Hello Everyone!

I just said goodbye to my MIL and her super sweet doggie, Marlo. We had a great visit and I'm so glad that they were here to share in our Halloween fun. We kicked off our Halloween festivities with a little scavenger hunt for the kids. We ordered their costumes sometime in September and when they arrived the kiddos had to follow the clues to find them.

The kids are very lucky that they are able to participate in a couple of trick-or-treat events. And heading to the first event of the season, the kiddos fell asleep on the way to the Trunk-or-Treat event at Rory's school.

The next day, Rian's school was having a Halloween party and the kids could dress up. But Rian decided that she didn't want to be Batgirl for the party, nor did she want to be Minnie Mouse (even though she wears the MM dress from last year's costume on a weekly basis).
OK Rian, what do you want to dress up as tomorrow for your school Halloween party?

I want to be Hello Kitty!

Hello Kitty? You don't have a Hello Kitty costume.

But I want to be Hello Kitty.

So at like 7:30 I start rummaging through all my craft supplies to create a Hello Kitty costume for Rian. With leftover felt and a headband, she had HK ears...

Luckily Rian has Hello Kitty pjs that I was able to use, along with a matching pink tutu she already had. And with yellow washable paint and a black eyeliner pencil, 30 minutes later she was ready to be HK for school.

And everything was fine until I painted the yellow nose on, that's when she freaked! She was not having it as Hello Kitty. But she did look awfully cute as HK.

I don't want to be Hello Kitty!...

...I want to be Minnie Mouse!

Since Rory didn't have school because of Nevada Day, after dropping Rian off at school, Rory and I stopped at McDonald's for breakfast. I know, I know, not the healthiest, but so good!!!

We stopped by the pumpkin patch later that afternoon for one last trip around the patch!!!

Saturday night was our annual Trick-or-Treat Path that we have done with our friends for the last several years now. So Saturday was spent creating our treat station for the event.

Thanks Maggie! I wasn't trying to take a picture or anything!

Our street is now safe with these two! Don't mess with them!

We're all ready for our little friends!

Here are some of the stations. I forgot to get a picture of the other ones on the path.

Surprise, surprise, Rian decided to be Minnie Mouse during Halloween day. (I spot Marlo taking a nap!)

I finally got pumpkins for the kids to carve and decorate. Talk about last minute.

Happy Halloween from the Harringtons!!!

This year we let the kiddos go to each door by themselves while we waited at the street. But the kids would not go up the driveway of this house. They were afraid of the projected scary child in the window. Daddy to the rescue!!!

Halloween Flashbacks...

Oh how I love him!!!

And that's a wrap on our Halloween!!!

I hope you all enjoyed your Halloween. I'm sad it's over but it's now on to planning Rory's birthday party. Someone is excited to be turning 8!!! Until next time, thanks for stopping by!
