With the new school year starting on Monday, I decided that I probably should do a recap of some of our favorite memories from last year. I know, I know I'm a bit behind, but with our very short summer break, we've been trying to squeeze in as much fun as we can before we have to start the daily grind again. (More on that a little later!)
At the Teacher Meet & Greet. Rory looks so little.
First day as a first grader!
One of Rory's favorite science assignments.
The Trick-or-Trunk event.
The kick off to the holiday theme week. Despite the fact that he was hesitant to wear the Santa hat, this turned out to be on of his favorite weeks at school.
OK so this was my favorite memories of the school year.
A proud moment for us as Rory receiving the Student Explorer of the Month.
The time I had to pick him up from the nurse's office...
...because the scoot suddenly stopped on the pavement, but Rory did not!
The scoots (Picture taken from Kindergarten Field Day)
Reading Week: When the school was filled with kids dressed as Cat in the Hat, Things 1 & 2, and fish, Rory was the only Lorax!!! And I might add, the cutest Lorax ever!
As Harry Potter
And as an archeologist for Career Day.
And how can we forget the morning of wear your pajamas to school to promote the importance of getting enough sleep day?!? Which is pretty clear my kiddos did not get enough of.
And the school event that beats them all as his favorite: The Apex Fun Run!!! I have a feeling that all the run gear that they pass out to the kids may have some thing to do with it!
Rory received the Governor's Award for Attendance. Rian keeping her eye on Rory!
She spent the entire ceremony taking selfies. My phone is full of photos just like this one! :0)
We're so proud of him!
And the sad day when we had to say goodbye to Rory's teachers.
He had the BEST teacher and I don't think he would have been as successful as he was had he not been in her class. His thank you note to her is truly a reflection of all the hard work she dedicated to helping him achieve his goals and guide him to be a more confident student. I know she will have a special place in his heart for many years. And in mine for that matter. We are very grateful to have had the opportunity to spend this last year with her and will miss Ms. Moore very much. :0(
I will miss the day when Ms. Boot does not run up to me at school to share a story of something Rory said or did that made her laugh. She is a very awesome teacher!
And just like that, one last packed lunch...
...one last early morning drop off in pjs...
...one last talk with friends as first graders!!!
Thanks for stopping by! Next up... Our summer break!
xoxo
