SB Part Two: Our Easter Festivities

Before I get to the second part of our Spring Break, I first have to wish my dad a very happy birthday today!!!

We hope that all your birthday wishes come true Dad!!!

After spending a couple of days unpacking, relaxing and packing again, we were geared up and ready start our Easter festivities Friday afternoon with an Easter egg hunt at the park with our friends. This is becoming a tradition and the kids love being able to celebrate with their friends.

I love this picture of Rory with his best friend, Landon discussing their candy selection.

We celebrated our sweet friend's 4th birthday on Saturday before heading back out to California to spend the Easter holiday with family.

Rian was so excited to get a Cinderella kite as a thank you gift from Kenzie.

And Rory got a Spider Man one. We left straight from the party for Cali and the kids used the kites as swords and battled it out in the backseat for a good portion of our road trip. With it being just the kids and myself this time around, I was happy they were able to entertain themselves while in the car. (Thanks Kerry!!!)

Couch vs. bunk beds... You would think that as often as my kids sleep on the couch, that no one has a bed for them. Easter morning was pretty peaceful.

Easter goodies from my parents

Rory's favorite toy, a Darth Vader Lightsaber

{ps: Thanks Grammie for the kids' Easter goodies. Rian lines up her Frozen friends all the time :0) .}

We stopped by Aunt Courtney's house to drop off some Easter goodies for them. But then it was off to my Nana's house for Easter.

The only Easter picture the kids would allow. "Mommy, can you hurry up?" He couldn't even let me finish taking the picture.

My Nana has had this ceramic dog for years and years. My Papa gave it to her for an anniversary over 20 years ago. Rian was in love with it. She is obsessed with dogs lately and she wanted to carry it around with her even though it was almost as big her.

Sorry Nana!

"Rian, who are those flowers for?"... "Nama!"

And a humming bird made a nest for her two babies in the patio.

Spending time with cousins...

Hunting for eggs... I love, love, love watching the kids hunt for eggs with their cousins, especially in the same backyard I spend my childhood doing the same.

Oh the Papas and their girls...

And then the silly string battle.

Then once again we were back in the car to head home to see Daddy. The kids did really well on the ride home considering it was a 4 hour drive from the grandmother's house. Rian was asleep before we got to the end of the street.

The Easter Bunny stopped by our house too!

As soon as we got home the kids torn through their buckets.

But with Rory's new lightsaber in hand, and his hand-me-down one in Rian's, the battle started...

And then daddy joined in with his own

And with that our Easter and Spring Break was over. It was a busy week, but it was filled with the kids having fun and making memories. Thank you to everyone that gave the kiddos an Easter treat. And a special thank you to my parents and mother-in-law for all the kids's goodies. They are beyond spoiled and we appreciate it!!!

xoxo
