The Holiday Hustle and Bustle

So after completely crashing for nearly a week from the holiday overload, I decided to pull myself somewhat together and work on the blog...only to run into some trouble with the blogger app I use to upload my photos. (Insert eye roll and grunt here). So now it's well past Christmas and I'm still working on getting caught up on our holidays.

But anyway, between being under the weather off and on for most of December, trying to capture the holiday season everyday, prepping for Christmas, traveling to visit some of our favorite people and then actually having Christmas, I had had enough. OK well my body had. I was done. We spent the better part of last week in a house that looked like it threw up Christmas, remnants of traveling and life in general. It was not pretty. Kuddos to you guys that can keep your house tidy after the mess of that magical day. If you saw any photos from the last week, they were clearly taken from angles that surely would not show the horrific mess we've been in.

Thank goodness for our little Ralphie helping me out with the holiday cheer each day. Because let's be honest here, as much as I tried to get my sh** (sorry, I couldn't think of a more fitting word) together this year, I just couldn't and the holidays dragged me around like rag doll. But the kids really do love Ralphie and ran down each morning to see what he was up to.

They absolutely loved that Ralphie made them breakfast!!! And I did too! It really helped with our morning routine. I hope his does this again next year!

The boys went to see the new Stars Wars movie the night before and brought home some popcorn for Rian Ralphie!!! (More on that evening a little later)

So our tradition continues!!!

And then they got wrapped up to be delivered to some of our littlest friends!

No surprise here! Rory even predicted this as he ran down the stairs to see Ralphie that morning.

Ralphie helped the kids with their Holiday Spirit week at school

The kids visited with Santa at Holiday Craft Night at Rory's school.
Santa said, "Finally someone brought me letters!"
Rian is still not entirely comfortable with Santa, but she was happy to tell him about the Batgirl Truck she wanted.

WE need to pack?!? I have a feeling someone likes to go to California!!! (I'll share all things California in a separate post!)

Rory was dressed in layers of layers of Star Wars to go see the new movie.

And while the boys were at the movies, Rian and I had an evening of beauty playing beauty salon.

"Show Daddy my pretty nails!"

Rian couldn't handle the idea that I had a really bad paper cut on my finger and that I didn't have a bandaid on it.

These next set of pics totally melt my heart!

We took the kids to a winter wonderland at the Silverton. (Yes there are 3 kiddos. No we did not adopt a nine year old. The kids got to run around in the freezing cold with their cousin Gwynn.)

Hot chocolate and a whipped cream mustache.

The next night Rory's school hosted a family craft event where the kids got to make ornaments, photo frames...

...decorate cookies...

...make menorahs...

...and of course visit with Santa!

I just love that the kids' schools make the week before break festive!!!

And of course the kiddos made the cutest holiday crafts at school!

Well that's all for now. I'll be sharing our California Christmas next!!!
