Three weeks old and Happy 4th of July

Hi Everyone!

I hope you all are staying cool out there. Remember way back, oh like, March-ish when I was so excited that we were experiencing warmer weather??? Yeah and remember when I said that I would soon be complaining that it was too hot outside??? Well guess what? Yup it's beyond hot here in Vegas. But can you blame me for complaining when it's 117 outside and 105 at 11 o'clock at night? No matter how much you love the warm weather, each and every one of you would be complaining about the heat when it's that hot!!! OK enough of that, I get it, I live in the desert.

Before I go any further, a huge thank you to all that have sent Rian a gift! She is SO spoiled with love (and adorable gifts, too) from everyone. So again, thank you, thank you, thank you!

And one last bigger than big THANK YOU to my wonderful friend Ashley for capturing some amazing moments for Rian's newborn photos! If you're in the Vegas area and are looking for an incredible photographer... she's the one!!! Here's a sneak peek...

Beautiful... just beautiful!

Rory

Rory has been so anti-picture-taking lately. I have so many pics of Rian from the last few weeks and just a handful of what I like to call "sneak attack" pics of him. I feel kinda bad, but what can I do?!?

So with Despicable Me 2 coming out today, Rory is minion crazy right now. He's obsessed with the little yellow guys. We even bought him neon yellow shoes because they're "minion shoes". What a crazy little boy he is!

A sneak attack pic of him with his new minion backpack

This is what happens we you mix a three-year-old, a slip n' slide, and 110+ degree weather

Rian

My mom sent me this pic of me as a baby...

Me and Rian

Here are a handful of my favorite pics of my beautiful Rian...

Such a little lady even when she sleeps

And no I don't pose her... I promise

But she does pose, that's for sure

Showing off one of her many new outfits

Big eyes and chubby cheeks

I can't get enough of this little girl!

How old: 3 weeks
Weight: 6 lbs 7 oz (at her 2 week wellness check-up)
Height: 19 ins
(at her 2 week wellness check-up)
Clothing size: Newborn, but I've been putting 0-3 months size onesies on her so that her diaper isn't squished against her tush and irritating her massive diaper rash.
Sleep: Awful! She sleeps ok during the day, but not at night. She's only sleeping in 2 hour stretches from 12-6 am and it's taking me close to an hour to get her back to sleep. She's awake from 6:00-9:00 in the morning and as soon as I get her back down at nine, guess who wakes up??? That's right, Rory!!!

Food: Formula, formula, and more formula. This week she is eating easily 2+ oz of formula at a time. She's had horrible gas the last couple of days, so I'm trying the sensitive formula to see if it helps her. It seems to be better on her stomach so far.
Activities: A lot of eating, burping, farting (sorry sweetie, but you fart like a 300 pound grown man), pooping and of course looking as cute as could be! And I love her reaction when she recognizes a voice. It's like, "Where have I heard that voice before?"
Likes: She loves her boppy pillow and being naked
Dislikes: She HATES to have her diaper changed. We're still trying to combat her diaper rash. And she doesn't like to be put into her carrier. Probably because she's so small her head sorta falls to one side.
Mood: Happy!
Best moment this week: Having her photos taken! My heart melts every time I see the photos!
Looking forward to: Having her on a better sleep schedule. I'm no longer looking forward to the sleepless nights. I'm done with those! Thank goodness for coffee!!!

The kids were suppose to be in the pic, but Rory is asleep and Rian is about to take a bath. Oh well maybe tomorrow.

Well since Rian really can't be around a whole lot of people right now, we didn't make any plans to go see any firework shows tomorrow. So while Randy is at work, I'm flying solo tomorrow night at the house with the two munchkins and the two very stressed dogs. Our dogs get so stressed when they hear fireworks. I feel so bad for them.

I hope everyone has a very safe Fourth of July! Happy Fourth of July from our family to yours!!!
