Week 28

Now we're officially in the final trimester! I'm not sure if I'm more excited or more nervous about that. The third trimester means we're heading into the home stretch and we FINALLY get to meet our little Baby H (and have a proper name). But on the flip side we have less than three months to get so much done. The house is still in what I like to call "updating mode". We're making progress, but it's just taking much longer than I had hoped. I guess for now I'm just going to be excited! I mean three months from now I'll stop gaining weight and start losing it. That's EXCITING!!! Yay to that!

I found out yesterday that my glucose test was normal! Yay!!! However, my iron is low. No surprise there. My iron has always been generally low, and I've been anemic in the past because of it. So I wasn't shocked when the nurse told me that the doctor wanted me to up my iron intake with an additional iron supplement. That's an easy fix.

This past weekend Randy and I had Panda Express for lunch, and usually the fortunes inside the cookies are anything but fortunes and less than entertaining. But we actually got some really cute ones this time. I wish I had taken a picture of mine, but it read, "Stop searching forever, happiness is right next to you". When I showed Randy, who was sitting next to me on the right, he said "That either means me or the spring rolls on the other side of you." Boy does he know me well! Because as far as I'm concerned those spring rolls bring much happiness to this pregnant girl :0)! His fortune was...

What ever could this be?!?

This week I'm in the middle of Easter overload. I have to dig out the Easter baskets, shop for some goodies and pack them away for our trip to California. I'm so excited to be spending Easter with our families. This is the first year Rory will be hunting for eggs with his cute little cousins, Clyde, Ethan, and Abraham! I can't wait to see all those boys hunched over together in the grass searching for hidden eggs. Rory's already pulled out the plastic eggs, so thanks to him I can check that off my list. And then there's the packing. It takes me forever to pack. But I guess it should be easy to pack my suitcase considering that I don't have that many options when it comes to clothes right now. Who am I kidding, it'll still take me 3 days to pack 3 very small suitcases. I'm also a little nervous about the 3 hour drive with a newly potty-trained toddler and this preggers girl who has to pee what seems to be every 10 minutes. My poor husband.

Well I've started...Let's see how long it takes me to finish

So yesterday during our walk we came across this little fella...

This is Sheldon or Shelly as Rory calls her
She was just sitting in the middle of the street. We knocked on the doors of the surrounding houses, but sadly no one wanted to claim her.  So we decided to take her home so that she didn't end up in the street again, and then I posted some flyers just in case someone was looking for her. But again, no one has called about her. We made a temporary home for her for now. I was set on sending her to the pet store in a few days if no one called, but Rory woke up at 6:00 am asking about the turtle. So I'm on the fence as to whether or not to keep her. She's awfully cute, but turtles are a lot of work...work I didn't plan on. Did you know that turtles can live for decades? I'm not sure I want that kind of commitment. I'll be sending her off to college/Spring Training/PGA Tour with Rory. So we'll just have to see how things go in the next few days.

I've got a new obsession!!! Now the packaging says it's new, but I swear I've had these before. These are so good, I think I might trade all my cereal for these. Ok maybe not ALL my cereal, but definitely some of my cereal.

So good!

Rory

As for Rory, he seems to be bursting with energy every moment of the day. Or is it that I seem to be losing energy every moment of the day?!? But lately he's into helping me with the chalkboard pictures.

Cleaning off last week's picture...
...So he can create his own

Pregnancy

How far along? 28 Weeks & 1 Day
Total weight gain/loss: 22 lbs
Maternity clothes? Still both maternity and non-maternity
Stretch marks? So far so good. My mango body butter seems to be doing the trick
Sleep: Sleep is still really good. Absolutely no complaining here
Best moment this week: I asked Rory if the baby is going to be as cute as he is and he responded "yeah".
Have you told family and friends: Yes!
Miss Anything? Sadly still a Subway sandwich. Let's just assume that I miss this every single day.
Movement: Baby is kicking away
Food cravings: CEREAL! C
har-broiled cheeseburgers... an In n Out cheeseburger, a whopper from Burger King or a famous star with cheese from Carl's Jr.
Anything making you queasy or sick: not anymore
Symptoms: Back aches are constant, more leg/feet cramps, a little decrease in energy, some pain in my ribs, and now some pressure in my lower belly. The doctor said that the pressure is completely normal during this time. (Phew)
Have you started to show yet: More than I'd like to admit
Gender prediction: I'm really not sure.
Labor Signs: Nope! Thank God!
Belly Button in or out? In, and creeping forward
Wedding rings on or off? On and annoyingly loose.
Happy or Moody most of the time: HAPPY with a few mood swings due to me being tired!
Looking forward to: Our trip to SoCal! I only have one other trip after this before the baby's born and that's it probably until after the summer. I'm a little bummed about that.
