Back to Cali: Janet’s Bridal Shower Edition

Hello!

Today I wanted to share with you all our recent trip to So Cal. The kids and I did back-to-back trips last month: One for Easter with Randy which I shared here and one for my cousin's bridal shower.

For those of you that don't know, my cousin, Janet is getting married this summer and she asked me to be a bridesmaid!!! Yay! (I came across this adorable photo of Janet and me circa December 1984)

So that meant that for the better part of a month or so, I got to plan the bridal shower with Debbie, Danielle and Ashley (and Vickie too!). But that also meant that my house was littered in suitcases and laundry. At one point I couldn't tell if we were coming or going! HAHA!

And I have no idea how I got all of this in the car! It was a serious game of Tetrus!!! (Yup, my beloved chalkboard made the trip too!)

We drove out the morning of the shower and the kiddos were pretty happy traveling in their pjs.

Rian was super excited to go to the shower.

So here are some of the details of Janet's shower. It definitely was a group effort. I'm close to my cousins and I really loved spending time with them planning this special event.

To get the shower started, a couple of games welcomed the guests to kick the festivities off.

This accompanied a jar of Hershey kisses.

On that same table was a bowl of rings for each guest to wear. Guests were instructed to not say certain words or their ring would be taken by another guest. We had to include a couple classic shower games. :0)

Another table was set up for guests to self-address Thank You postcards.

Fresh flowers were a must for the theme!

Each guest table was adorned with a gold charger, fresh flowers and a glass jar for pens for the games. (I'm so sad that I didn't get more pics of the centerpieces. I thought they were really beautiful!)

I snuck a pic of our Nana playing the games!!! She loves a good party and is game for pretty much anything.

Speaking of games, here are a couple of the ones we created.

By the way, no one came close to guessing all 32 items!

This game was kind of a take on the Newlywed Game. I asked Janet and her fiance´, Jacy the same 20 questions (separately of course) prior to the shower. During the shower the guests were asked the same 20 questions. And Jacy knew is soon-to-be-bride better than anyone. Good job Jacy!

During the game Janet would say "Ooooo his answer is more accurate than mine". It was really fun hearing their answers. (I found the questions on Pinterest)

We played one other game called Janet Through The Years where guests guessed Janet's age in each photo. (Thanks Jessica for the suggestion! Can't wait to meet you!!!)

A moment between Janet and Jacy's mom.

They're so cute! Don't worry, no one ate the photo!!! The cake was delish!!!

Janet and her soon-to-be-MIL. She fit right in with our family!

Two very exhausted people and a bride! The shower was a lot of work but it was totally worth it!

The next morning the kiddos scored with a donut breakfast! Thanks Nama!!!

And just like that we were back in the car heading home to Vegas.

I'm so happy for Janet and Jacy! And I can't wait to celebrate their fairy tale.

PS: My Tia Lilly was one heck of a Fairy Godmother!

As always, thanks for stopping by! I have a lot to catch up on, so look out for more to come this month.

xoxo
