Hello 2017 // Resolutions

Happy New Year!!!

I hope everyone has had a great beginning to 2017. I have to admit that this year is already kicking my butt. I've spent this week just trying to get back into my old, pre-holidays routine, while jumping on the organization bandwagon, and keeping up with my new resolutions. We have been going through the house and trying to purge as much stuff as possible. It amazes me just how much stuff we have a accumulated over the years. So with that said, today I'm taking a look back at our NYE and some resolutions that I have set for myself.

Well if you read the last post you know we stayed in with the kiddos. We took full advantage of the night making pizzas, baking cookies and making ice cream sandwiches; and the kids played with balloons, noisemakers and confetti poppers.

The dogs are definitely not fans of ringing in the new year.

At midnight we ran outside and watched some very impressive firework displays and Rory went through an entire box of Pop Its.

Once we were back inside the kiddos turned out the lights and whipped out the glow sticks!

And just like that the pups were happy once again!

And Rory chose to spend the first day of the year relaxing, while Rian got back to business (of some sort). I overheard her on the phone firmly saying, "No! No! Thank you, goodbye!"

And while keeping the tradition of making a new year resolution, I decided that 2017 will be the year of action vs. reaction. I feel like last year kind of dragged me along, as if I was never really on top of things. Despite my best efforts, I always felt like a hot mess trying to play catch up. So this year I'm trying to focus on little changes that I hope help me conquer 2017, rather than it conquering me. I found this on my Instagram feed that gives me a little guidance during my day. A lot of these I already do, (6 am meditation is probably something I will never do. Haha!) but numbers eight and ten are huge ones I want to finally tackle. Anyone who really knows me knows that I don't get enough sleep ever. I want to concentrate on setting a better sleep schedule that will help with a more consistent sleep habit.

This quote has always stayed with me, and so I am choosing to have more faith in myself in every aspect of my life: fitness, parenting, as a woman, and while facing opportunities and challenges. I want to take more chances and truly conquer what is in front of me,

So I'll leave you with that. I'm planning on making some changes to the blog in the next few weeks so things might look a little different the next time you stop by. Until then, I hope you're making 2017 great!!!

xoxo
