Our Thanksgiving

This year for Thanksgiving we decided to break tradition and head west to spend the holiday with family. To be honest I was kind of looking forward to experiencing all the cliches that come along with this time of year: traveling, crowded houses, and sharing stories and memories of past holidays. So we packed up and joined the all the other holiday travelers.

This was Rian's idea of getting ready to go. Nice try, but try again...

...Much better

Rory was so excited to go because he knew he was going to get to celebrate his birthday early this year with what was deemed his California birthday! (More on that to come)

Thankful that Randy always drives.

Making a "Thanksgiving Eve" dinner with my mom.

He was so excited that he was going to have a birthday celebration with his cousins.

Our tradition of orange cinnamon rolls and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade continued.

So while Randy took the kids to visit with family, I got in a pre-turkey workout and then helped with the prepping of the food. Ok, so helping is probably a little misleading. That is unless you think sitting at the counter, drinking coffee and watching the prep happen is helping. Then yes, I helped!!!

This poor turkey looked that it was trying to do a handstand.

Baby Zoe is so pretty!

This picture kills me! Rory's face when he realizes that he just opened a gift that was on his wish list, and Rian in the background with that frowny face!!!

A huge thank you to everyone who gave Rory a gift! :0)

And well clearly Rian needed a quick nap to recharge.

Happy Birthday Rory!

My 94-year-old Nana is the best. She's game for anything, even making silly faces.

Taking a break from playing Apples to Apples to watch Rory do some magic tricks. Thanks Grammie for the magic set.

Next up, Jenga!

This is my favorite picture from our trip. Rian giving Nana a hug goodbye.

The next morning Rory got in on the cleaning.

Heading home with half of my parents's house packed in the back of the car. Haha! At least that's what it felt like.

It was a looooong ride home.

And although we had a rough ride home, it was a trip filled with lasting memories.

Thanks for stopping by! I'll be back in a few days with Rory's birthday party he had here, because sometimes you just have to celebrate turning 7 twice!!! :0)

November Life

Happy Thanksgiving Eve!!!

I'm so excited that Rory has had the entire week off of school, instead of the usual Thursday and Friday! Yay!!! This week has be filled with lots of birthday party prep, and packing. Traveling, spending time with family, and lots and lots of eating are next on our list.

But before we pile in the car for our usual road trip, lets talk about last week. Last week was a fun mix up of activities: turkey-creating, list-making, and birthday-celebrating!

Rian and I met up with some friends at the park to make adorable turkey puppets.

She drew the cutest turkey on the front of her puppet. (I helped her with the legs)

Rory drew this cute turkey at school.

The kiddos had a VERY important meeting last week. Topic: Must-haves for their Christmas lists.

The week went from the weather being nice on Monday...

...to freezing by Wednesday. Fall is here in Vegas!

The kids got to play at another trampoline place. Rian's collecting balls for dodgeball!

Both kiddos like to climb to the top of the walls.

Aerial Rian...this was right before she collided with a little boy sending him into sobbing tailspin.

Family Game Night: Disney Bingo on repeat

Seriously kids?!?

And well it's never too early for a holiday nap.

And with that I've got to say goodbye for now. I want to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving!!!
