Week 32

This past week has been filled with little bits of progress everywhere. I can finally say that rooms are being completed in our house!!! I hate transitional phases with the house and I especially hate it when I'm pregnant. I just want to do certain things that I know I can't. Patience, patience, patience.

We also started working on our baby name list and it went a lot smother than I thought it was going to go. And even though I think Randy axed one of my name choices, I'm ok with that. I knew it was a different name and I would have been surprised if he loved it as much as I did. I've also learned from picking out a name for Rory, if one of us is not thrilled with a name, there's no use in trying to convince the other of loving it. I try not to get emotionally attached to a name until I know we both love it. So once a name is axed, we move on to the next one. Hopefully we can move through this particular process quickly and have both names picked out in the next few weeks. But we won't reveal the baby's name until he or she is born (Sorry Emily, you're gonna have to wait :0) ).

At my doctor's appointment on Monday I was given the ok to go ahead and pre-register at the hospital! So that is now on my to do list for next week. Yup, we are THAT close to meeting our little baby!!! My doctor also scheduled my c-section for week 39... that is if I don't go into labor before then. I'm so excited, I can't stand it. But now I have a whole new list of things to work out for the baby's birth. It's a good thing we're going home this weekend, we need to have a family meeting with our parents ASAP.

Rory

Rory was in desperate need of summer clothes, and I quickly realized that he hit a small milestone. He has officially outgrown the toddler section of clothes. This makes me a little sad, but at least I have a few more years in the baby/toddler section with the baby. I have to admit though, Rory does look pretty darn cute in his new clothes. And it was really fun asking him if he liked certain clothes. Let me tell you, that boy knows what he likes and what he doesn't.

How cute are these flip flops?!? SO CUTE!

Yup, this is how we spend pretty much every afternoon

Pregnancy

Feeling really heavy

How far along? 32 Weeks & 1 Day
Total weight gain/loss: 26 lbs (No weight gain this week which pretty much means that last week's weight gain, or at least some if it was water weight)

Maternity clothes? Still both maternity and non-maternity.
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep: So so, I'm having trouble falling asleep and I'm waking up in the middle of night and having trouble falling back asleep. :0(
Best moment this week: Hearing the baby's heartbeat at my doctor's appointment on Monday, and scheduling my c-section
Have you told family and friends: Yes!
Miss Anything?
Walking normal, getting up the stairs in a timely manner, (I swear our turtle, Shelly can probably get up the stairs faster), and just moving with ease.
Movement: Baby is moving around as I am typing.
Food cravings: Tonight I had a craving for toast with butter and strawberry jelly.

Anything making you queasy or sick: I have to eat very small portions because I get the worse indigestion and nausea if I don't.
Symptoms: The symptoms are not as intense as they were last week, but I'm still dealing with back pain, rib pain, leg/feet cramps, water weight, and heartburn. The leg/feet cramps are the worst! My leg muscles are sore just because of the cramps.
Have you started to show yet: Oh yeah! I feel like I'm just a giant belly with a head, arms and legs
Gender prediction: I'm sticking with a girl
Labor Signs: Nope :0)
Belly Button in or out? OK, my belly button has done something weird. The top half has flattened out, but the bottom half has not. So it looks like my belly button has folded over itself.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, but my grumpiness sneaks in every now and then. Hey you'd be grumpy too if you felt like a backwards turtle.
Looking forward to: MY BABY SPRINKLE!!!! I'm beyond excited to see everyone!

Week 31

Week 31?!? OMGosh! Really? That is what goes through my mind over and over all day long. I can't believe that in eight short weeks we will have our sweet little baby here with us, that is if I don't go into labor before week 39. Wow single digit countdown!!!!

This past week has been pretty uneventful, in a good way. I'm feeling back to normal with minimal pain. Yippy!!! I'm back to organizing the house and updating Rory's bedroom. Our family room was starting to look like a daycare with all of Rory's toys sprawled all over the place. So I decided that since he has a decent size walk-in closet, and not a whole lot of clothes to fill it, I would turned it into a toy closet for him. Besides, what three-year-old can reach their clothing on the standard-height rods? And he picks out his clothes everyday, so a majority of his clothes are in his dresser. Using his closet as toy storage just seemed like the perfect solution. Although his closet is 90% done, I'm still elbow-deep in updating his room. But that's my project for April, so I still have some time to finish. And as always, photos will follow...I promise! Like I said, pretty uneventful, right?!?

Someone at Panda Express must know we're expecting a baby...

My fortune yesterday

Shelly is my obsession right now...

This is how I snuggle with her. She is so cute!

Rory

Rory has been a CHAMP with helping us move the baby's stuff from his room to the nursery. I thought he would have some trouble letting go of some of the toys and gear, but he seems to be "on board" with the baby. In fact, he got a little upset when he saw some baby stuff being donated yesterday. He started yelling from his car seat, "NO! For baby!" I guess I wasn't completely clear when I told him that it was for a baby. He apparently thought it was for our baby. He calmed down when I told him that Nama (my mom) was going to have a party for our baby and that's why we needed to give the stuff to another baby.

Showing off how he brushes his teeth. Check out that crazy bed head, so Flock of Seagulls. And yes, Rory wears that shirt multiple times a week. It's his favorite shirt!

Week 31...

My bump is out there!

Yup that's water weight. That's the mark left from the seam of my pants. I need to down gallons and gallons of water ASAP

How far along? 31 Weeks & 1 Day
Total weight gain/loss: 26 lbs (I'm pretty this week's weight gain is mostly water)
Maternity clothes? Still both maternity and non-maternity.
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep: So so, I'm having trouble falling asleep and I'm waking up in the middle of night and having trouble falling back asleep. :0(
Best moment this week: Organizing closets! Making progress on the house feels so good!
Have you told family and friends: Yes!
Miss Anything?
Subway sandwich...boo! <----- always. I miss not feeling so heavy. I miss my old self when I could move around in bed with ease.
Movement: Tons, especially when I drink ice water. It's as if the baby gets the chills.
Food cravings: Nope

Anything making you queasy or sick: Eating is still making me nauseous and making me throw up every once in a while
Symptoms: The symptoms are not as intense as they were last week, but I'm still dealing with back pain, rib pain, leg/feet cramps, water weight, and heartburn. I woke up this morning to thee worst leg cramp. It hurt so bad I jumped out of bed to stretch it out and immediately dropped to my knees in pain. Then the cramp shot up to my hamstring, so I stood up and then dropped back down to my knees. The up and down continued for a minute or two and I'm sure I looked hilarious. I probably would've thought it was funny if I wasn't in so much pain.
Have you started to show yet: Oh yeah! I've really popped out in the last week. I can definitely see a difference in the size of my bump
Gender prediction: I'm sticking with a girl
Labor Signs: Nope :0)
Belly Button in or out? Barely in and it's tender to the touch. Which means it's gonna flatten out pancake-style soon
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Mostly happy, but I've had a few moments of grumpiness.
Looking forward to: My doctor's appointment next week. Hopefully we can start finalizing some loose ends, like registering at the hospital and our birth plan. And our last trip to California before the baby arrives and seeing everyone at my baby sprinkle. Did you know that for the second child, a baby shower is called a baby sprinkle??? Instead of showering the mom-to-be with gifts, we're sprinkling the new baby with love!

Celebrating birthdays this weekend

Yesterday was my Nana's 91st birthday! That's right, my grandmother is 91 years young. And when I say young, I really do mean young. She's amazing! Her social life is busier than most, it's definitely first come first serve with having her attend something. She's my hero, she raised five girls with my grandfather, and helped raise one of her nieces and one of her nephews along with my cousins. I have so many great childhood memories because of her and my grandfather and I am grateful for everyday she is here with us. I love our Wednesday evening phone calls and all the advice she gives me on being a mom and a wife.

Happy Birthday!

My beautiful grandmother and mother (another one I absolutely love)

Today is my dad's birthday!

Rory's 1st visit to Disneyland, where my dad carried him for 90% of the day
As far as I'm concerned, I have THE GREATEST DAD EVER! My dad is awesome... he taught me how to drive, worried about what time I came home as a teenager (who am I kidding, he still worries about that every time we have to drive back from California), gave me away at my wedding, and is the best papa to my son. I know none of these things are out of the ordinary for most dads, but my dad does it all as if it's a privilege.

One of my favorite pictures ever.

Father-Son-in-law dance??? Such goofballs!

Rory's only a few days old... memories

This is the best... they have the same look! So adorable

Happy Birthday Nana and Dad! We love you!!! <3

Week 30

I know I'm a few days behind, but here you go...

Well if Easter weekend was one of the best weekends of this pregnancy, than last weekend had to be by far one of the worst. I should have known it was coming because of all the pregnancy symptoms that I was experiencing last week. Well, come last Thursday I started to experience excruciating pain in my back, legs, and in my pelvic bone. It felt like the baby was going to fall out when I stood up. And it just got worst from there. At times I was in so much pain that I could barely walk. I thought that my doctor might put me on bed rest when I went in for my doctor's appointment on Tuesday. Thank goodness that Tuesday morning I woke up feeling almost back to normal. Luckily for me there was no cause for alarm and I'm not going into early labor. Yay! However, I need to take it easy from now on if I don't want to be placed on bed rest. And the doctor suggested I start wearing a belly support to help lift the baby up off my pelvic bone and relieve the pain in my back and legs. So I'm now sporting one of those until the baby is born.

Over the weekend we picked out bedding for a boy and a girl (which one of them will be ordered from my hospital bed the day the baby is born) and decided on the wall color for the nursery. Some of the furniture has been moved into the nursery as well. So we are making progress. Photos will follow as soon as there is paint on the walls and some of the decor is up!

Rory

We decided to keep the turtle and now Shelly is officially a Harrington. Having her here has been much easier than I originally thought and Rory is such a big help with her. Shelly is technically his first pet and he's doing so well taking care of her.

Priceless!

Shelly's his buddy

Maggie's still not sure about her

I.LOVE.THIS.PICTURE.

PS- Is it wrong that I want to snug with the turtle? She's so dang cute! I guess I'll just settle for rubbing her little feet for now. But if anyone knows how to snug with a turtle, please let me know!

Week 30

How far along? 30 Weeks & 5 Days
Total weight gain/loss: 24 lbs (no weight gained this week... SHOCKING!!!)
Maternity clothes? Still both maternity and non-maternity.
Stretch marks? Still looking good.
Sleep: Not so great over the weekend with all the pain. And Tuesday night it felt like I was being attack by all my pillows. Maybe it's time to scale back to only 2 or 3 now!
Best moment this week: Hearing that the baby is doing great and that bed rest is not in my near future! Hooray!!!
Have you told family and friends: Yes!
Miss Anything? Subway sandwich...boo!
Movement: Tons
Food cravings: Nope

Anything making you queasy or sick: Eating in general leads to feeling faint and nauseous... This is due to the fact that the baby is pushing my stomach upward and feeling smaller than usual.
Symptoms: Where do I begin... back aches, rib pain, sore legs, pelvic pain and pressure, heartburn
Have you started to show yet: More than I'd like to admit
Gender prediction: Girl. I try and imagine having two boys, but I see us having a boy and a girl. I Had a dream the other night that I had a boy, but continued to wonder if I was having a boy or a girl. I wonder what that means.
Labor Signs: Not yet! Hooray!
Belly Button in or out? Barely in
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: HAPPY now that I'm feeling much better. OK and a moments for grumpiness.
Looking forward to: Finishing up on Rory's room and continuing on the nursery!

Week 29

This past weekend was amazing! We had such a great time in Southern California with our families. Being able to share the Easter holiday with everyone was so special for me. It was my way of sharing a little bit of my own childhood with Rory.

I was a little nervous about the drive out there, but it wasn't bad. My back did hurt and it was a little uncomfortable sitting in the car for long periods of time. But we stopped to have lunch and stretch and that helped A LOT! Rory did amazing in the car! He was a champ and I'm so proud of him.

Rory had so much fun dying Easter eggs with my in-laws and searching for eggs the next morning in their front lawn.

My two boys!

Sunday we headed to my parent's house to celebrate with my family, which included Rory's 3 adorable cousins. Rory was so polite hunting for eggs: if he came across a bunch of eggs, he only took a couple of them and left the rest for his cousins. Then he helped hide the eggs for the older kids and then proceeded to show them where he hid the eggs. I guess we need to work on the rules of egg hunting for next year.

Randy and his dad went to the Dodgers Opening Day game on Monday. They beat the San Francisco Giants 4-0!

Now on to the pregnancy

How far along? 29 Weeks & 1 Day
Total weight gain/loss: 24 lbs
Maternity clothes? Still both maternity and non-maternity. As you can see my Dodger shirt is not maternity.
Stretch marks? Still looking good.
Sleep: Great!
Best moment this week: Spending the weekend with our families!
Have you told family and friends: Yes!
Miss Anything? Subway sandwich...boo! We stopped at Stateline on the way home and I had to go into a place that was sorta like a food court and of course there was a Subway. I thought I was going die the minute I smelled the bread. I had to book it out of there like there was no tomorrow. Torture, pure torture!
Movement: Oh yes!
Food cravings: The cravings seem to be slowly disappearing

Anything making you queasy or sick: not anymore
Symptoms: Back aches are getting worst, leg/feet cramps, decrease in energy, rib pain every now and then, pressure in my lower belly, awful indigestion and nausea at night, and incredible soreness in my legs that is sometimes unbearable. Oh yeah, and my legs are ballooning like crazy. I need to talk to the doctor about how I can combat that! DEFINITELY THIRD TRIMESTER!!!
Have you started to show yet: More than I'd like to admit
Gender prediction: I don't know
Labor Signs: Not yet!
Belly Button in or out? Still in, but barely
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: HAPPY
Looking forward to: Getting the house done!
