Rory and Rian

Wow! I started this post weeks ago and I'm just now getting back to it. Well I had every intention of posting it closer to her 5 month birthday, but better late than never, right?!? The good news is that now you get both Rian and Rory in this post since he turned 4 years old last week!

What's going on with this little cutie?!? Well, lots! She continues to brighten our days and fill our lives with such joy and happiness.

I can't even express how grateful we are to have these two.

I can't have a sweet pic without...

a crazy one

All smiles soon turns into...

{i love that she is sticking her tongue out}

her yelling and giggling in his ear

She's doing ok with eating stage one foods. She started out doing fantastic with eating, but about a week later her teething started to affect her appetite. For a week or so she really wasn't into the baby food. So I would just give her a little bit each day so that she wouldn't lose the taste for it and she gradually started to get back into eating. So far we've given her bananas, peaches, squash, carrots, apples, and sweet potatoes. Her favorites are definitely pears and squash.

Milestones:

Sitting up {almost by herself}

Holding her own bottle

Sleeping in her own room

Her first Halloween {she was the kitty that fireman Rory rescued from a tree}

Sitting in her stroller like a big girl {without her carrier}

Discovering the krinkling sound of a snack bag

How old:   5 months
Weight: 13 lbs 6oz + {no doctors appointment this month}
Height: 23 3/4 ins + {no doctors appointment this month}
Head: 41 cm + {no doctors appointment this month}
Clothing size: 3-6 months tops/onesies/jammies, 0-3 months bottoms/pants, newborn/0-3 months/size 1 shoes
Sleep: Sleep is no bueño. She has been waking up several times a night during this last week. It's like she's a newborn all over again. I think it's her teething that is bothering her. My poor baby girl. She's still taking cat naps during the day. But some BIG news... Rian is sleeping in her own room now. So no more baby in our room.
Food: Formula. 1-3 oz at a time, about 24 oz a day. Oatmeal cereal and fruits and veggies!!!
Activities: Her activity pod, activity mat, rolling side to side, sitting up... She can almost sit up by herself. She's good for about 30 seconds, then she oh so slowly starts to tip forward.
Likes: She likes to eat pears and squash, bath time, and when you talk to her.
Dislikes: She still hates her carrier, but I recently took out the head support cushion because it was squishing her head and that seems to help her a little. And she discovered this week that she HATES the nose bulb. She's been congested lately and I finally broke it out. I remembered how much Rory disliked it (as I'm sure most babies do), and I was hoping she could overcome the congestion on her own. But no such luck, she screams when I use it. I don't blame her, she has the tiniest nose. She really doesn't care for carrots either.
Mood: Happy!!! Dispite her teething and lack of sound sleep, she's really pretty happy.
Best moment this week: Watching Rory run from the kitchen to the family room and pretend to fall right in front of Rian just to make her laugh.
Looking forward to: Finally finishing her nursery. There's nothing like having family in town to light a massive fire under my butt to finish her room. Haha, I guess having her sleeping in there wasn't motivation enough! I've been working on it, but I just need a good few hours in there to finish it up, oh and a kids-free trip or two to Michael's and Hobby Lobby :0) <----------- I still didn't finish the nursery even though my parents were in town! Um, Amie, get on this, like now!!!

Now it's Rory's turn! My little man is four years old! My mind is officially blown.

Let's take a stroll down memory lane...
